Welcome to our site of sports inspired art & ideas.
A few years ago I tried to find a piece of Hawks memorabilia for my husband's birthday that matched our home's contemporary style, but came up empty handed. So, I decided to design my own homage to the great team. Looking at the trend for tram scrolls, I redesigned the traveler's journey to the fan's journey, and utilised my anthropological background to good effect - asking dozens of die hard Hawks supporter what the key destinations, dates, scores and names were in their life long journey as a fan. The end result was a piece of contemporary art that discreetly smuggled in the sporting passion.
From a one-off design, locally screen printed, friends urged me to create other designs for different clubs and sports. Purposely black & white and NOT mentioning the club or team name, This is art that only fans will recognise and enjoy, and for others it is simply contemporary design!
Good Weekend (SMH/The Age) took notice and named the prints an ‘Object of Desire’. Hard To Find and Fairfax's 'The Store' were also keen to stock the range. Footballers have our range on their walls and Triple MMM decorated their VIP box with our prints at the 2014 AFL GF (see our Swans page)
Over the past few years i have enjoyed exploring new designs - all re-imagining design classics like luggage tags and Ray Ban Wayfarer to rethink sports fan fare. People have requested more sports so the range has stretched to covers AFL, NRL, Tennis, Cricket, Bathurst, Horse Racing, Rugby Union and more. My designs steer away from trying to replicate official colours or merchandise. This is all about design from the sports (and style) lover perspective
I hope you find something you love, and if your team or sport is not here, please get in touch and let me know what you would like to see.
